Cabo San Lucas

Way back my parents got suckered into buying a time share in Cabo and since then we have loved being invited on the Cabo trips. This year my dad was able to get enough rooms for the whole family. Only my sisters and their husbands were able to come as well as my cousin Makayla.

We had been excited for Cabo since January when Eliza's passport arrived. Too funny that she has a passport. I remember getting my first one right after high school. Her passport picture of her little two month old face is hilarious. The requirements were to have her face up against the wall, facing the camera, eyes open, without my hands showing in the picture. Getting a picture of a baby looking at the camera is difficult enough, but trying on someone who can't hold their head up is nearly impossible. Many shots later we got one that qualified. It makes me smile every time I look at it.

I was so nervous for the plane ride. Liza was a gem. She fell asleep right before we boarded and stayed asleep for two hours. It helped that I brought my secret weapon with me. Eliza could nurse all day if I let her. The hardest part was the descent. Her ears were in so much pain all she could do was scream. So sad.

As soon as we arrived we knew exactly why we had been so excited. Perfect weather, blue skies (I've only been to Cabo in May and am yet to see a cloud), nothing beats the view of the ocean, and for us, half of the fun is the food. Scott and I love the Taco stands. We ate and Las Guacamayas our first night. It was that good we returned the next day, and again our last night.

Heading out to the pool with a baby is a little different. We always had both hands full of Eliza's pool necessities. Another new thing is finding the best shaded area and spending the day there. Eliza was such a great sport. She sacrificed her usual nap routine for naps in the bjorn, car seat, and pool chair, and went to bed much later than usual. I've adapted to feeding her where ever we may be. Most of all she loved all the attention and being dotted on. Somedays we would bring her back to her room for a nap and she wouldn't want to sleep through any excitement. My parents offered to watch Eliza so we could enjoy some alone time and activities not meant for a 6 month old. It was also so fun for Scott and I to experience so many new firsts with our baby. 

For us with a baby, we would have been completely content relaxing by the pool all week. My family made sure we didn't miss out on any of our favorite Cabo hot spots, which included...


A time share presentation -- so those that hadn't swam with the dolphins could enjoy the magic.


Mango man beach -- a popular spot for snorkling, but we go there for the mangos. Seriously the most amazing thing you could ever devour on a stick.


Lover's Beach --- a walk and then hike from our Hotel, ending with our hearts spiking as we ran the gauntlet.


The Cabo Surf Hotel -- a gorgeous view of the surfers and hands down the best hamburgers in Cabo.
